More than four Western Australians die every day to to an injury-related incident.

We work across a range of current and emerging injury priority areas affecting the community. This has included falls, trauma recovery, road safety, substance-related harm, and safety promotion.

In 2023-24, we delivered 136 community education sessions, events and displays to over 4,567 attendees. This community education, aims to prevent injuries, support recovery and create safer people and places.

Events

Every year 1 in 4 Western Australians report an injury requiring treatment by a health professional.

We work to prevent and reduce the impact of injury and support those affected.

In 2023-24, we provided 861 free counselling sessions to those affected by road crashes.

About Counselling

In 2023, injury was the leading cause of death for Western Australians aged 15 – 44 years.

We work with real data to create safer people and places.

WA’s injury events cost $9.6 billion in 2012 due to health care needs, loss of productivity and quality of life lost.
