Building Support in Preventing Violence in WA

29 June 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

This free bite-sized webinar from the Local Government Community Safety Network will provide a local focus on violence prevention following the launch of the Our Watch Local Government violence prevention toolkit.

Speakers

  • Katie Moynan works in the role of Specialist Practice Development & Research at Preventing Violence
Together, a collaboration co-chaired by the Centre for Women’s Safety and Stopping Family Violence,
two established, state-wide organisations with a shared purpose of supporting women and children
experiencing family, domestic and sexual violence, to be safe and free from violence. Having professionally
supported victim survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence for many years, Katie is passionate
about shifting the culture that permits violence to occur in the first place.
  • Cr Chontelle Stone is a passionate advocate for community participation, engagement and connectivity.
In 2017, Chontelle was elected to the City of Cockburn where she has been contributing to creating an
environment of social inclusion. As President of the Australian Local Government Women’s Association
WA Branch Chontelle developed the Stand Up program aimed at increasing female representation on
    Local Government Councils.

There will be opportunity to share any initiatives your LG are doing to prevent violence. If you are interested in sharing, please contact Vikki Barlow [email protected]
