Dementia Enabling Environments for Falls Prevention Webinar

May 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Older adults with dementia are a high-risk group for falls, with people living with dementia experiencing over twice the risk of falling than those without dementia. Cognitive ability is vital in aiding alertness, planning movements, and responding to falls hazards inside and outside of the home environment. An understanding and awareness of the risk factors for falls among older adults with dementia is essential to develop effective falls prevention strategies with clients.

Join Injury Matters, with guest speaker Nick Seemann from Dementia Training Australia, for the “Dementia Enabling Environments for Falls Prevention” webinar on 22 May 2025, where we will explore:

  • Dementia and its effects on falls risk in older adults
  • Environmental risk factors for falls among older adults with dementia
  • Creating supportive environments for people living with dementia
  • Examples of a range of settings and improvements to those settings
  • Accessing relevant resources and referring older adults with dementia to appropriate services and health professional

Who should attend.

This webinar is suitable for Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Aged Care Workers, Carers and Nurses
