Mechanical force-related injuries occur due to direct contact with an inanimate object such as machinery, tools, and sports equipment, or from animate forces such as bites, person-to-person contact, and stings. In 2021-22, contact with objects was the second most common cause of hospitalised injuries in Australia, highlighting the importance of effective prevention strategies.
