WALGA Urban Forest Conference
14 February 2025
The Urban Forest Conference in Western Australia brings together Government, industry and community leaders to discuss resilient and equitable urban forests for communities.
Addressing challenges like development, climate change, and biosecurity threats. Keynote speaker Freya Thomas, Senior Urban Forester at the City of Melbourne, will share insights on strategic urban forest planning amid increasing urban density.
Proposal to reduce workplace exposure standard for Aluminium (Welding Fumes)
Consultation Open
Safe Work Australia engaged an independent expert to undertake a review of the workplace exposure standards for welding and aluminum welding fumes. Submissions to this consultation are open and will be used to inform decision on recommendations provided.
Submission closes 28th February 2025.
WACOSS Conference – Registrations Now Open
12-14 May 2025
The 2025 WACOSS Conference will explore the future of Western Australia’s community services sector, focusing on innovation, emerging technologies, and wellbeing.
With a theme of “Innovating Together, Leaving No One Behind,” the event will offer workshops on applying the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, while addressing how new service delivery models can improve outcomes for all.
2025 NDRI Symposium
Registrations are now open for the 2025 National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) research symposium. This event is hosted in partnership with WANADA and will precede the WA Alcohol and other Drugs Conference.
‘Be Summer Safe’ Campaign
Consumer Protection launched the ‘Be Summer Safe’ campaign with the main safety advice focusing on:
- Portable pools
- Pool toys and flotation aids
- Button batteries
- Trampolines
- E-Rideables
WA Suicide Prevention Grants
The Mental Health Commission of WA have established the WA Suicide Prevention Grants Program to support locally developed initiatives that meet the specific needs of target communities.
Grants of up to $100,000 (excl GST) are available and close on 19 February 2025.
