Stay On Your Feet® Remove Hazards campaign

The Stay On Your Feet® Remove Hazards campaign runs from March to May and encourages older adults to remove potential hazards and create a safe home environment to prevent falls and to promote healthy ageing as well as looking after their eyes and feet.

Move Your Body Stay On Your Feet

Stay On Your Feet® community grant applications are now open

Applications for Stay On Your Feet® Move Your Body grants are now open! Grants of up to $5,000 (plus GST) are available and will fund projects running between 1 September and 30 November 2022.

The Move Your Body key messages and calls to action focus on the importance of building strength and balance to prevent falls and promote healthy ageing.

Grants are open to community groups and not-for-profit organisations, health professionals, and community workers working with older adults, retirement and lifestyle villages, local governments, and population health units. Download your Move Your Body Grant Application today!

WALGA Road Safety Management Systems Service

WALGA is offering a new service to assist Local Governments to develop and adopt a Road Safety Management System (RSMS). A RSMS is a framework which outlines the key policies and processes that will enable Local Governments to systematically manage local road safety performance.

We have just had our hottest summer on record. To reduce the potential harm from extreme heat, the Climate Justine Union has collated some information regarding extreme heat safety for the WA community.


New ANROWS violence research reports

Two new research reports from ANROWS shed light on the dynamics of intimate partner homicides in Australia. The reports, exploring two separate data sets, offer important insights into the characteristics of these offences, the intimate partner relationships in the lead-up to these lethal incidents, as well as the life course trajectories of offenders prior to fatal violence.


The latest IPCC report and what it means for our health

The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report, further reinstates the effects of climate change on health and wellbeing both for us and our planet. It also reinforces the urgency to act and the importance of work in this space to reduce inequality and vulnerability.
