Age-friendly Recreation Centres can provide a setting for engaging with local seniors. Increasing senior’s participation in regular physical activity, especially strength and balance training is known to improve health, wellbeing and in particular prevent falls from occurring. Falls are becoming an increasing concern among our ageing population and most notably affect people aged over 65 years. In 2012, falls were the leading cause of injury hospitalisations and deaths in Western Australia, costing $2.2 billion.
