Injury Matters offers falls prevention training for health and community workers in Western Australia that work with older adults living in the community.
The Falls Prevention for Support Workers training is an introductory workshop for falls prevention and explores the knowledge and skills required to identify potential risks of falls in older adult clients and report falls risk following organisational procedures. Each workshop includes the following content:
- Background and impact of falls
- Risk factors for falls and age-related changes
- Falls prevention strategies
- Your role in falls prevention
- Simple screening for falls risk
- Stay On Your Feet® program
- Falls prevention resources
All workshops are delivered by a trained Injury Matters staff member.
Workshop duration: 1 hour
This workshop can be delivered in the Perth Metropolitan area and, with notice, regional Western Australia. Please contact the Injury Matters team via [email protected] for any questions about regional delivery.
Please note: The organisation placing an in-person workshop booking must provide a suitable venue, consisting of the following requirements: Room size that allows for group activities, chairs, desks (preferred), screen or projector with laptop connectivity and audio speakers, and internet access.

This training is suitable for support and community care workers that work with older adult clients within a community care setting.
Cost: $200 per workshop (inclusive of GST)
Payment: Injury Matters will arrange payment via invoice upon workshop confirmation.
