The Black Dog Institute

The Black Dog Institute aims to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness through the rapid translation of high-quality research into improved clinical treatments, increased accessibility to mental health services and delivery of long-term public health solutions.

The Institute incorporates clinical services with cutting-edge research, health professional training and community education programs. Injury prevention activities include;

  • Advanced training in suicide prevention
  • Community presentations
  • School presentations
  • Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) project
  • Youth in Distress project
