The Stay On Your Feet® Program: Year in Review

August 1, 2018

We would like to thank all those that participated in Stay On Your Feet® in 2017-2018! In the 17th year of the Stay On Your Feet® program Injury Matters continued to deliver falls prevention activities and expanded the program to reach more communities and regions in Western Australia (WA).

This included the development of resources to increase awareness of falls prevention among Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) and Aboriginal communities. We had significant increases in the number of people engaging with Stay On Your Feet® via telephone enquiries, website page views and newsletter subscribers.

In 2017-2018 two campaigns were delivered around the themes of ‘Build Your Balance’ and ‘Make Your Home Safer’. To complement existing evidence based campaign initiatives, for the first time a paid mass media campaign, campaign specific videos, promotional materials, and campaign toolkits were developed to increase awareness of the risk factors of falls for older adults.

Some of our key highlights for the 2017-2018 financial year can be found in the infographic below.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the growth of the Stay On Your Feet® program in 2017-18, we look forward to continuing to work with you to reduce falls and falls-related injuries in WA.
